It has been converted into an ethnographic museum dedicated to ancient customs, handed down to our time. This house is the main setting for the 'nozze carsiche' (kraška ohcet), the Carso wedding that is repeated as a ritual every two years at the end of August representing a real wedding according to the oldest traditions.

the picturesque fortified village, all alleys and stairways, is dominated by a XVI-century church, a pilgrim destination for centuries, built on the top of the rock. At the time of the Turkish invasions it was used as a sanctuary for the inhabitants and their cattle. This is one of the better preserved examples of this type of medieval fortification in Europe.
